As “The Barn Chick”, I consider the privacy of my clients and associates to be extremely important.

This privacy policy document describes in detail the types of personal information that are collected and recorded by “The Barn Chick” and how I use this information

Application“The Barn Chick” is subject to the National Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988. This Privacy Policy and Disclosure Statement explains how “The Barn Chick” collects and protects the privacy of personal information about you collected by “The Barn Chick”  or provided by you to “The Barn Chick” via our facebook or from other sources.

This Privacy Policy and Disclosure Statement does not apply in relation to acts and practices of “The Barn Chick” that relate directly to the employee records of present and former employees of “The Barn Chick”.

Collection of your personal information“The Barn Chick” will generally collect personal information about you directly from you when you use this facebook page or deal with “The Barn Chick” directly over the phone, messenger or via email.
Normally, the type of personal information collected will include your name, address, telephone number, email address, equine address and general health details in relation to your suitability for our services

Disclosure Statement – “The Barn Chick”  collects personal information for some or all of the following purposes: (i) to provide equine related services, (ii) to provide marketing information to you about services of “The Barn Chick”, and (iii) monitoring the quality and standard of service provided to you. If you do not provide any information requested, “The Barn Chick” may not be able to provide you with the information for the purposes outlined above. “The Barn Chick” may collect personal information about you from a 3rd party source. “The Barn Chick” will take reasonable steps to contact you and make you aware of the purposes for which “The Barn Chick” has collected your personal information which has been obtained from a 3rd party source.

Use or disclosure of your personal information – “The Barn Chick” will use and disclose personal information for the primary purpose for which the personal information was collected or for purposes related to or ancillary to that primary purpose. “The Barn Chick” does not disclose collected personal information to 3rd parties other than its consultants and advisors, for the purpose of allowing such 3rd parties to directly provide and/or market services to you. “The Barn Chick” may from time to time engage 3rd party contractors to carry out work for “The Barn Chick”  3rd party contractors are prohibited from using collected personal information about you, except for the specific purpose for which that personal information has been supplied by “The Barn Chick” to the contractor.

Personal information about other people – you must not provide personal information to “The Barn Chick”, unless that person has authorised “The Barn Chick”, through you, to collect, use and disclose personal information about that person for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and Disclosure Statement

Sharing information – “The Barn Chick” may disclose personal information to its consultants or advisors upon the basis that that party may only collect or disclose the information for the purpose for which that information was originally collected by “The Barn Chick

Access to personal information – “The Barn Chick” will, on request, provide you with access to personal information held by “The Barn Chick” about you, subject to any limitations or exceptions in the Privacy Act.
 “The Barn Chick” will deal with requests for access within a reasonable time. You must pay “The Barn Chick” for any reasonable costs incurred by “The Barn Chick” in providing you with access. If “The Barn Chick” refuses to provide you with access to personal information about you, “The Barn Chick”  will provide you with reasons for the refusal, in accordance with the requirements of the Privacy Act

Up-to-date information – “The Barn Chick” will take reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information is up-to-date when collected or used by “The Barn Chick”. If any personal information held by “The Barn Chick” about you is incorrect, you should contact “The Barn Chick” immediately, so that “The Barn Chick” can take reasonable steps to correct incorrect information about you

Security of personal information – “The Barn Chick” protects your personal information from misuse and unauthorised disclosure. Personal information about you may be stored in hard copy or electronically in data information storage systems of “The Barn Chick”. “The Barn Chick” maintains physical security, as well as network and computer security over paper and electronic data information storage systems

Foreign countries – “The Barn Chick” will not transfer your personal information to foreign countries without your express or implied consent

Log Files – like many other websites, https://www.facebook.com/TheBarnChick makes use of log files. These files log visitors to the site – usually a standard procedure for hosting companies and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information inside the log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. This information is used to analyse trends, administer the site, track user’s movement around the site, and gather demographic information. IP addresses, and other such information are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable

Cookieshttps://www.facebook.com/TheBarnChick  uses cookies to store information about visitors’ preferences, to record user-specific information on which pages the site visitor accesses or visits, and to personalise or customise our web page content based upon visitors’ browser type or other information that the visitor sends via their browser. 3rd Party Privacy Policies – you should consult the respective privacy policies of any 3rd party ad servers for more detailed information on their practices as well as for instructions about how to opt-out of certain practices. Children’s Information – we believe it is important to provide added protection for children online. We encourage parents and guardians to spend time online with their children to observe, participate in and/or monitor and guide their online activity. “The Barn Chick” only knowingly collects the personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 that is required for the Waiver and Liability Release Form for any such children wishing engage in any equine activity in relations to “The Barn Chick” services, and such information is only collected after the parent or guardian responsible for that child has completed their own Waiver and Liability Release Form. If a parent or guardian believes that “The Barn Chick” has in its database any other personally-identifiable information of a child under the age of 13, please contact us immediately (using the contact in the first paragraph) and we will use our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.
